Filter Types
It is important to select the right filtration and pumping system to suit your application.1) Inlet Water Filter
There are several types available, from a simple basket to a combined Leaf Filter & First Flush device which uses the overflow outlet as entry point for the rain. First Flush devices can reduce the amount of contaminants that can potentially affect quality by diverting the first 5 - 10 litres away from your tank, allowing for cleaner rainfall to be collected.2) In-Line Water Filter
An In-Line filter cleans the water coming out of the tank, and is ideally used in combination with the inlet filters to ensure additional purification. In-Line filters are often utilised when supplies collected are used for washing and toilets.3) UV Treatment Water Filter
The UV treatment system is ideally used in combination with the inlet and outlet filters to provide quality drinking water in line with health department regulations. The advanced filtration system reduces bacteria by utilising an Ultra Violet light for purification.Water Pumping Systems
Connecting a pump to your tank can add extra uses for the rain collected from your roof. Your pump can be very simple or complex depending on your requirements. Some pumps require installation by licensed plumbers while others do not.Davey Rainbank:
This is an automatic system, which means that if there are insufficient supplies in your tank it will automatically switch to mains supply, so you are never caught short. Being connected to mains supply, this system must be connected by a licensed plumber.Automatic Pump:
This system turns on when you turn on the tap but it only takes water from the tank, making it essential to have enough in the tank to use the system. The pressure pump is ideal for reticulation systems.Manual Pump:
The electric pump is ideal for hand watering the garden, and must be turned on before use.
