Rainfill water filters prevent leaves and other unwanted materials from entering your water tank and spoiling the quality of the rainwater you collect. A variety of filters, diverters and first-flush devices are available from Rainfill Tanks. Rainfill also supplies a variety of taps and pumps to suit each application.

Filter Types

It is important to select the right filtration and pumping system to suit your application.

1) Inlet filters

Inlet filters are a standard filter, which removes larger items such as leaves insects and vermin. Rainfill recommends this filter with every rain tank, as it decreases impurities by discarding dirty water. Also known as a first flush device or rainwater diverter, inlet filters are ideal when the water is used for gray water or garden watering.

2) Outlet Filter

An outlet filter cleans the water coming out of the rain water tank, ideally used in combination with the inlet filters to ensure additional water purification. Outlet filters are often utilised when the water from the tanks is used for washing water and toilets.

3) UV Treatment System

The UV treatment system is ideally used in combination with the inlet and outlet filters to provide quality drinking water in line with health department regulations. The advanced water filtration system reduces bacteria by utilising an Ultra Violet light to purify the water.

Pumping Systems

Connecting a pump to your tank can add extra uses for the rainwater collected from your roof. Your pump can be very simple or complex depending on your requirements. Some tanks require installation by licensed plumbers while others do not.

Davey Rainbank:

this pump is an automatic pumping system. If there is not enough water in your tank it automatically switches to mains, so you are never caught short. The Davey Rainback must be connected by a licensed plumber.

Pressure Pump:

this pump turns on when you turn on the tap but it only takes water from the tank, making it essential to have enough water in tank to use the system. The pressure pump is ideal for reticulation systems.

Electric Pump:

this pump must be turned on before watering your garden. The electric pump is ideal for hand watering.
